1969 Dodge Charger DaytonaWith the factories backing NASCAR's
entries, a no holds war for speedway supremacy was taking place. Aerodynamics
became even more important than in the past. Dodge Division found that even the
smoothed-over Charger 500 models were not aerodynamic enough to make for a
clear-cut advantage over the super-powerful Fords. As a solution, the Daytona
Charger was introduced. With an elongated fiberglass nose piece covering the standard
grille opening and a huge, roof-high spoiler mounted on the trunk, these wild looking
creations could navigate the super speedways at nearly 200 mph.

sale to the general public for street use.

Super Beetle stated "After 29 years, millions of Beetles, and countless
improvements, the 1979 Convertible is still a sensible way to flip your
lid." The news spread that this was finally the last year of production for the
Beetle Convertible. This created a huge backlog of orders at the Karmann plant.
Production that was supposed to end July 31, 1970 was kept until January 1980
to fill thousands of orders from around the world. But on the last day (January
10, 1980) the last Super Beetle, a triple white Convertible rolled off the
production line and into history! The car can be seen today on display in the Karmann Museum in Onasbruck, Germany.

you'll have the only one in attendance. Full power, loaded with all the toys of
the modern day luxury cars. Comfortable and dependable to head out to any
special event, dinner or a Sunday cruise. A great color combination too with a
rich black exterior and contrasting tan interior. The car is heavily accented
with chrome and rolls on a set of chromed wire wheels to add to the nostalgic
appearance. The long nose, simulated fender mounted spare tires, high winged
front fenders are all reminders of a time in the automotive industry when
styling and excess were standard in an attempt to capture sales. A great
addition to any collection.
